TCIA Qualified Trainers

TCIA Trainer Qualification course was designed to qualify trainers to teach TCIA’s Tree Care Academy: Career Pathway courses and the Electrical Hazards Awareness Program (EHAP). There is a prerequisite to this course which is TCIA’s Certified Tree care Safety Professional (CTSP) certification.

The CTSP provides the fundamentals of adult learning theory and the practical experience of creating and delivering a quality training program. This Trainer Qualification course extends beyond the basics and explores the dynamics of a blended learning approach using a flipped classroom model and the added benefit of online learning resources.

Arborist Apprenticeship Program

There are two options to introduce a new apprentice/trainee to the tree care industry. To help you determine which option is best for your current business and company culture check out the Arborist Apprenticeship Program.

TCIA Course Transfer Policy

To provide flexibility while maintaining accurate course records, TCIA offers the following course transfer policy.

  • TCIA Member Companies
  • Course transfers are free for active TCIA member companies.
  • There is no fee for eligible transfer requests.
  • Non-Member Companies
  • A $30 administrative fee will be charged for each course transfer request submitted by a non-member company.
  • The transfer fee must be paid before the request will be processed.
  • Transfer Eligibility

  • The original course registration must not have a certificate generated. Once a certificate has been issued, the course is no longer eligible for transfer.
  • TCIA reserves the right to deny transfer requests that do not meet program requirements.

    Complete the transfer request by providing the following information:

Once submitted, your request will be reviewed and processed by the TCIA Education team. Please allow adequate time for processing.
