Last April, the CTSP council met and voted to revise the CTSP policies and procedures update coming September 9, 2023. These policy changes will help with the CTSP process of recertification and keeping track of eligible CEUs to keep your CTSP credential in good standing. This will be a much more streamlined process, and we appreciate all of the input and feedback from our CTSP community!

Updates include:

  • Simplified CEU requirements containing two categories:
    • Continuing Education – a minimum of 15 CEUs must be met. This includes attending safety meetings, seminars, workshops, or other training events.
    • Training and Program Development – a minimum of 15 CEUs must be met. This includes delivery of safety training, seminars, meetings, and/or developing “safety program elements” (safety policy, written safety procedures, safety lessons, forms/checklists, manuals, etc.) or participation in the Safety Committee – this category is a combination of the previous Safety Training and Program Development categories.
  • CTSPs are eligible to request one recertification deadline extension of six months by filling out the application citing need and by paying an administrative fee prior to the expiration date.

Due to the implementation of these new policies, CTSPs will not be able to access online CTSP records from September 5-8, 2023.

The full, revised policies and procedures will be posted on September 9 on the CTSP web page.
