With more than 3,000 Certified Treecare Safety Professionals (CTSPs) nationwide, this program continues to grow and evolve. Our mission has always been to support tree care professionals in advancing safety, leadership, and professionalism—while making the process as efficient as possible.
As the CTSP community expands, we’re committed to improving the program so you can spend less time on paperwork and more time developing your skills. That’s why we’re excited to share two important updates to the Continuing Education Unit (CEU) process that will make your life easier.
First, starting July 8, 2025, any CEUs CTSPs earn through TCIA’s Brightspace platform will be automatically uploaded to their CTSP record.
What does that mean for CTSPs? Less paperwork!
Second, beginning January 1, 2026, we’re introducing a simpler, more consistent process for CEU submissions. In the new year, all CEU submission will need to include either a completed Manager Verification Form or a Tailgate Training Log as the required supporting documentation. This means:
Why this change? This update will help streamline and improve the CEU process by:
- Ensuring faster CEU processing times
- Reducing the chance of your submission being declined due to missing information
- Providing consistency with just two approved forms that support all activities and events
