The Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) will be hosting Legislative Day on the Hill September 15–16, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
This is your opportunity to be an advocate for the future of your business and the entire tree care industry. As a TCIA member, your voice matters—and this event is your chance to ensure it’s heard by lawmakers who directly influence the policies that impact your work.
Legislative Day on the Hill kicks off with essential educational briefings and advocacy training. We’ll arm you with the tools and knowledge you need to have effective conversations with members of Congress and their staff. You’ll learn about the pressing policy issues facing our industry and how to clearly communicate the impact of federal decisions on your company, your workforce, and your customers.
Then, we’ll head to Capitol Hill where you’ll meet directly with lawmakers to share your story and advocate for smart, sensible policy solutions.
This year, we’ll focus our efforts on several key policy issues:
- OSHA Tree Care Operations Rulemaking – TCIA continues to push for a dedicated OSHA standard for arboriculture that reflects the unique challenges and safety needs of our industry.
- Wildfire Mitigation – TCIA advocates for federal initiatives that recognize the critical role tree care professionals play in reducing wildfire risks—particularly around utility infrastructure and within residential communities.
- Workforce Shortages and H-2B Reform – From workforce development programs to common-sense improvements to the H-2B visa system, TCIA is advocating for policies that help you find and retain qualified workers.
Why it matters: Every law and regulation that touches our industry starts with a conversation. By showing up, sharing your experience, and building relationships with legislators, you help shape the future of tree care!
