TCIA’s Tree Care Academy Crane Operations Specialist course is designed to build the basic competencies of crane operation for all members of the crew including the crane operator, arborist-in-charge, climber or lift operator, signal person and ground person.

The course covers:

  • Proximity to electricity
  • Safe lifting procedures
  • Assessing and overcoming poor ground conditions
  • Slings, fittings and connections
  • Rigging and hoisting

The Crane Operations Specialist training program manual is available in English and Spanish.
