Become a Crew Leader Specialist

The new TCA Crew Leader Specialist online course is a self-paced training program that results in a Crew Leader Specialist certificate of completion valid for 3 years. This course is recommended to prepare for the TCA Crew Leader Qualification online class and workshop.

Crew Leader Specialist is specific to training and assessing the knowledge and skills that are important in the effective leadership of a tree care crew. This self-paced course blends online learning with self-assessment, reflection, and other activities, encouraging you to evaluate yourself as a leader and identify your areas for improvement.

Elevate Your Skills and Become a Qualified Crew Leader

The new TCA Crew Leader Qualification online class is a cohort-based training program that fosters learning amongst a group of peers under the direction of a TCIA Qualified Trainer. This class culminates in a virtual workshop and proctored exam. Successful completion of the program results in the TCA Qualified Crew Leader credential, which does not expire.

The TCA Crew Leader Qualification class and workshop review topics from the Crew Leader Specialist course while diving in with a deeper level of engagement and assessment in an online class setting to train and assess the knowledge and skills that are important in the effective leadership of a tree care crew. This cohort-based class blends online learning with discussions, demonstrations, timely feedback, and opportunities to collaborate and engage with your peers as you grow as leaders together. This class culminates in a virtual workshop, where a TCIA Qualified Trainer will dive deeper into the topics covered in the material through activities that will elevate your skills as a crew leader.

REQUIRED BEFORE ALL WORKSHOPS Attendees must:

  1. Successfully complete the requirements of the TCA Crew Leader Qualification online class.
  2. Receive results and badge of completion.
  3. The link to attend the virtual workshop will be provided once the requirements have been met.

The one-day virtual workshop is highly interactive and includes activities to help participants learn or hone leadership skills. Topics and activities include communicating with clients, creating, and maintaining the professionalism of your crew, motivating crew members, training crew members, and dealing with conflicts, including clients and crew members.

There is an exam after the workshop. You must pass the exam to earn your Crew Leader Qualification. Satisfactory completion of the class, workshop, and exam will result in ISA and CTSP CEUs.
