It includes an online course and highly interactive one-day virtual workshop run by a TCIA Qualified Trainer to develop your learning on client communication, building and maintaining crew professionalism, motivating and training crew members and managing conflicts involving both clients and crew members. The program combines online learning with discussions demonstrations, feedback and opportunities to collaborate and engage with peers.

The Path to Qualification

Earning your Crew Leader Qualification involves a comprehensive, interactive learning experience. Here’s an overview of the process:

  1. Enroll in the Program
    Begin with our interactive online course, alongside your peers in the industry. The course covers six essential areas with videos, narration and 20 sample forms around:

    • Leadership
    • Communication
    • Quality Control & Professionalism
    • Developing Crew Skills & Knowledge
    • Performance Management
    • Safety & Production
  2. Complete Required Activities
    Engage with your group through:

    • Seven discussion posts.
    • Two video demonstrations (graded by a TCIA Qualified Trainer).
  3. Prepare for the Workshop
    Earn your “Workshop Ready” badge by completing pre-work, including an optional pre-test with unlimited attempts.
  4. Participate in the Virtual Workshop –
    Attend a highly interactive full-day Zoom workshop featuring:

    • Breakout sessions for collaboration.
    • Group discussions and activities.
    • Real-world applications of adult learning theory.
  5. Pass the Proctored Final Exam
    Complete the online exam within a 5-day window after the workshop. A passing score of 70% or higher earns your qualification.Successful completion of the program and passing the exam result in the TCA Qualified Crew Leader Qualification Certificate, which does not expire.

Frequently Asked Questions

No, you do not need to have completed it. The TCA Crew Leader Qualification program covers the topics in much more depth.

If you do not pass the exam, you are allowed two retakes. Complete the form and submit it to TCIA to schedule your exam. The exam fee is $57 per retake.

It will take a month to complete the online course, including all activities, prior to the workshop.

No, Crew Leader Qualification does not expire.

No ongoing CEU requirements are required.

Yes. Qualified Crew Leaders will receive a certificate.
